About:

Ed is an artist based in South-East London, trained at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design — making textural, spatial images influenced by sound and electronic music:

Macro photography forms the starting point - produced through experimentation with light and refractive materials. The work develops through digital manipulation - arrangement, cropping and sequencing - and ultimately through translation into print.

Printing is not neutral. Ink and paper introduce textural noise and tonal compression. As part of an intentional cycle, printing and rescanning becomes a form of image processing, where digital clarity gives way to physical substance.

The appeal of this approach lies in working at points of criticality - where structure begins to cohere, dissolve, or reconfigure, and an image feels on the verge of becoming something else. Here, perception loosens: configurations of surface, colour and memory can register as unstable, even hallucinatory, operating more as a fleeting impression or afterimage than something fixed, and inviting association rather than resolution.
